The issue of food is one of the most important issues facing the world at present or in the future as a result of the increase in global demand in conjunction with the population increase. Recent years have witnessed significant changes in the prices of food commodities and the income levels of members of the Egyptian society, so the study 0f the food consumption pattern in the society is one of the important issues to know the nutritional needs of the members of community and the extent to which they obtain their sufficiency from those needs.as the individuals share of the song varies from one society to another and between the different layers of the same society with different levels of income . which necessarily requires studying those changes in spending levels on two important commodities Meat and grain, and compare their results.فhe research aimed to study the extent to which there is a difference in the patterns of consumption of meat and grains in urban and rural Egypt by study the family survey.
